Commissions

We have categorized our Photographers as the following:
Bronze (default signup account): 1-499 downloads, receive 50% commission
Silver: 500-4,999 downloads, receive 55% commission
Gold: 5,000-9,999 downloads, receive 60% commission
Platinum: 10,000 and more downloads, receive 70% commission
(Please email to admin@istockpixel when you have enough download to upgrade to higher level, we will change your status only after we receive your email)

Affiliates Commission
We have an affiliate program on our website, whenever a user from your site, click on the link we provided to you, register and become a member with us, you will have commission whenever the member buys or sells on our website, 7% for all transactions, as long as the member is active. This percentage is very high if you compare the percentage we paid out to our Photographer. We believe the site will be more popular with our affiliate program. Income Tax
The income tax law in the US is complicated, please contact your tax Preparer for your questions or specific advice about your compensation with iStockPixel. However, we need to explain the way we will pay out the royalties and/or commissions to members. We will not pay you royalties and/or commissions (when it exceeds the limit of 10 USD for Photographers and 600 USD for Affiliates) if we don't receive your legal documents. The laws required us to report compensation for Photographers (Royalties) if we paid more than 10 USD; and report compensation for Affiliates (commission) if we paid more than 600 USD at the end of the year. We only use PayPal to make the payments, 100 USD or Quarterly, whichever comes first. Please read our Privacy Policy to know more how we protect your Personal Identifiable Information.

1. For Individuals

a. US Citizen or Resident Alien
You have to submit a Form-W9 and a copy of your Driver License or ID to iStockPixel. When you save the file, please name the file as {username}-W9, {username}-DL, and/or {username}-ID (for example, if your username is johndoe, then rename the file johndoe-W9). Then email the files to admin@istockpixel.com. We know you may not feel comfortable to provide us your social security number, please apply for an EIN (Federal Tax Identification Number) from the IRS, in general, every business needs an EIN, now you can apply for an EIN online. This is a free service provided by the IRS and you can receive your EIN immediately. You can use your EIN for the form W9 when submitting to iStockPixel. We will report your royalties and/or commissions via your EIN, this is the best way for you when doing business online. iStockPixel will not withhold any income tax to your royalties and/or commissions.

b. Resident of a country which has a tax treaty with the US (please click here for US Tax Treaty)
​If you are registered to iStockPixel as an individual, please submit the Form W-8BEN and your Government Identification Card. When you save the file, please name the file {username}-8BEN, {username}-GID (for example, if your username is johndoe, then rename the file johndoe-8BEN). Then email the files to admin@istockpixel.com. By completing and submitting the form, you may benefit from lower withholding rate or no withholding which is explained in US tax treaty with your country. US Tax ID number (EIN or SSN) is not required since you cannot apply for it.

c. ​Resident of a country which doesn't have a tax treaty with the US (please click here for US Tax Treaty)
If you are registered to iStockPixel as an individual, your compensations from iStockPixel will be withheld 30% for income tax. Please submit Form W-8BEN and your Government Identification Card. When you save the file, please name the file {username}-8BEN, {username}-GID (for example, if your username is johndoe, then rename the file johndoe-8BEN). Then email the files to admin@istockpixel.com. US Tax ID number (EIN or SSN) is not required since you cannot apply for it.

d. Resident of Vietnam
If you are Photographers who live in Vietnam, a country which does not have a tax treaty with the US, we will withhold 30% of your royalties and/or commissions when sending out the payments. We also know it's very hard for many users to open accounts with PayPal (which we use to pay commission), we will offer sending cash directly to your house (we will deduct the transaction fee, 3% of your commission, minimum 100 USD sent, which mean you need to have 103 USD commission before we send 103 USD - 3 UDS transaction fee - 30 USD withholding tax = 70 USD to you). please submit the Form W-8BEN and your Government Identification Card. When you save the file, please name the file {username}-8BEN, {username}-GID (for example, if your username is johndoe, then rename the file johndoe-8BEN). Then email the files to admin@istockpixel.com. US Tax ID number (EIN or SSN) is not required since you cannot apply for it. We also need your telephone number if you want us to send you cash. Please send an email to admin@istockpixel.com to let us know if you want to have your commission with this method.

2. For Business: Partnerships, LLCs and Corporations

a. ​Partnerships, LLCs and Corporations in the US
If you are registered to iStockPixel as a company organized under US law, then you can submit Form W-9 to us for income tax purpose. When you save the file, please name the file {username}-W9 (for example, if your username is johndoe, then rename the file johndoe-W9). Then email the file to admin@istockpixel.com. iStockPixel will not withhold any income tax to your royalties and/or commissions.

b. Partnership, LLC, Corporation, or an Association outside the US
If you are registered to iStockPixel as a company which is not organized under US law, use Form SS-4 to apply for a Tax Identification Number (TIN). When you have obtained a TIN, please consult with your tax Preparer to determine which Form W-8 is correct for you. Please complete the appropriate W8 form. When you save the file, please name the file {username}-W8 (for example, if your username is johndoe, then rename the file johndoe-W8). Then email the file to admin@istockpixel.com. iStockPixel will not withhold any income tax to your royalties and/or commissions.
